Milwaukee Bucks assistant Darvin Ham has accepted an offer to be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. The deal has not been publicly announced but it is now being widely reported in the United States. Ham becomes the 28th coach in Lakers history and takes on probably the most high-profile job in the league for his first head coaching role.
Jimmy Butler took it back to the 2020 bubble with his performance on Friday as the Heat forced a decisive Game 7, and a coaching vacancy was filled. (Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports)
He’s not a pushover, and yet he’s very likeable. He’s got the resume, being on a championship coaching staff and he has experience coaching a superstar, in Giannis. I’m sure LeBron’s on board with it, but to me this is clearly not a hire he dictated.
