Sixers star Joel Embiid has a “very good” chance to return from meniscus surgery next month during the regular season, head coach Nick Nurse said Wednesday. Nurse said there's no timetable for Embiid to return from the knee injury that has sidelined him since he last played on Jan. 30. “I think there's a very good likelihood that he will return before the play-in, playoff,” Nurse told reporters before the Sixers lost to the Clippers, 108-107, at Wells Fargo Center. The Sixers coach also said he's hopeful both De'Anthony Melton and Robert Covington can return before the end of the regular season on April 14, though while Covington has been “making some progress,” Melton is “not as close yet.”
James Harden shared high praise for Tyrese Maxey following his first game back in Philadelphia. He was much briefer on Daryl Morey and Joel Embiid.
Everyone knew this was coming after how he left the team during the offseason.
