Anthony Davis hit 13-of-21 shots and 6-of-7 free throws for a cool 32 points, 16 rebounds, a career-high eight assists, three steals and three blocks in 39 minutes.
Advice: He also flirted with fouling out, but finished with five personals. Davis didn't hit a 3-pointer (or even attempt one) tonight, but this kind of line is the type of thing we're going to get on a nightly basis from the Brow. And that's why he should have been taken No. 1 or No. 2 in your fantasy draft.
Anthony Davis scored 32 points Wednesday, going 13 of 21 from the field, as the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Houston Rockets 131-112. Davis grabbed 16 rebounds and had eight assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +23 in his 39:07 of playing time. He added three blocks and three steals.
Anthony Davis said the Pelicans haven't experimented with lineups including himself, Nikola Mirotic and Julius Randle.
Advice: "We haven't [tried that lineup]," Davis said on Saturday. "Not even in practice. Maybe we will [Monday]. But I definitely want to see it. I think it will be an interesting lineup." It doesn't sound as though coach Alvin Gentry plans to use a three-bigs lineup often, at least early in the season, which is a slight hit to Randle and Mirotic -- AD isn't impacted and remains the No. 1 pick in most fantasy scenarios.
Anthony Davis walked to the Pelicans locker room in the first half on Thursday, but returned to the bench shortly after.
Advice: The Pelicans radio broadcast reported that Davis had some blood on his hand, possibly from a cut. He returned to the bench not too long after, so it doesn't look like it'll affect him heading into the season. We'll let you know how he fares the rest of the way.
Anthony Davis finished the preseason in style on Thursday against the Raptors, scoring 36 points (13-of-18 shooting) with 15 rebounds, three assists, two steals, four blocks, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes.
Advice: Davis briefly left the game in the first half with a cut on his hand, but returned to action in short order. This game is a good example of why AD is at the top of draft boards, as he provides elite production across the board. He's a fantasy cheat code and is in the conversation for the top pick in every format.
Anthony Davis scored 36 points Thursday on 13-of-18 shooting as the New Orleans Pelicans lost to the Toronto Raptors 134-119. Davis pulled down 15 rebounds and had three assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +3 in his 31:22 of playing time. He added four blocks and two steals. Davis went 2 of 3 from 3-point range.
Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and E'Twaun Moore will all be rested for Wednesday's exhibition game against the Heat.
Advice: No reason to risk anything when the games are meaningless, and with these guys out, we could see a lot of Nikola Mirotic, Julius Randle and Frank Jackson. AD had a tough time staying healthy through his first four years in the league, but he's made it through 75 games in each of the past two seasons, which suggests his injury woes are behind him. Few guys can rack up the stats like Davis, so he should go No. 1 overall on draft day.
