The Knicks announced on Tuesday that Courtney Lee (neck) is "progressing well and will begin running on the court this week."
Advice: Lee missed all of the preseason and has yet to suit up during the regular season. Although he is making progress, he remains without a definitive timetable. Even when he is healthy enough to play, he will likely only see limited minutes off the bench, as New York is fully committed to rebuilding and playing their youngsters this season.
Coach David Fizdale believes that trade candidate Courtney Lee can play a role for the Knicks this season.
Advice: "Absolutely he can help," Fizdale said. "He’s a stable vet who can shoot the ball and defend. There’s always a place for that, especially with that young group of having another guy that can space the floor for you and guard is a good thing." Lee has been sidelined with a mysterious neck injury and his return is nowhere in sight. We see no reason to stash in most fantasy leagues, especially with Allonzo Trier playing well.
Courtney Lee (neck) will be re-evaluated by a doctor in a week.
Advice: He had a shot for the nerve issue in his neck and is also having issues with spasms. Lee remains without a timetable to return and is an obvious trade candidate when he does come back.
Courtney Lee (neck) will remain on the sidelines for Sunday's game against the Wizards.
Advice: There's no telling when he'll be back, so until we get a positive update, we'll consider him out indefinitely.
