Memphis hasn't trailed at all while going 4-0 since star guard and leading scorer Ja Morant was sidelined with a left knee sprain. DALLAS — Desmond Bane scored a career-high 29 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies held on to beat the Dallas Mavericks 97-90 in their first game since setting an NBA record with a 73-point victory. Tyus Jones had 16 points and seven assists for the Grizzlies.
Although the Dallas Mavericks lost for the fourth straight time on their home court Saturday night at American Airlines Center, coach Jason Kidd said “there were a lot of positives” that resulted from the 97-90 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies. Those guys that were in uniform (Saturday) fought, and they gave themselves a chance to get back in the game,” Kidd said. It was just the little things down the stretch that we just couldn’t capitalize on.
However, those teams did not have Desmond Bane. Especially an extra-motivated version of Desmond Bane who had the best game of his career. Despite the Grizzlies achieving the aforementioned feat last night, Bane made enough of a difference for Memphis to get the win.
