  • Rudy Gay made 8-of-10 from the field for 21 points with six rebounds, three assists, one block, two steals, no turnovers and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes against the Clippers on Thursday.
Advice: He's looked a lot healthier lately and hasn't been on the injury report. Interestingly, Gay has ditched his Puma kicks because they were causing pain in his heel earlier this season, but the shoe company is working to find an alternative option besides him wearing another brand. His fantasy owners should be rooting for Puma to be taking their time because Gay has been outstanding over his last five, averaging 19.6 points, 7.6 boards, 2.2 dimes, 1.8 steals and 1.2 treys on 61.3% from the field and 94.1% from the line. He's a must-start player right now.

  • Rudy Gay notched 23 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 34 minutes on Sunday, making 10-of-16 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws in 34 minutes.
Advice: That gives Gay five double-doubles this season and he looks far more comfortable two years removed from his Achilles surgery. The Spurs rolled to a 110-97 victory behind Gay, DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, and all signs point to Gay cruising with top-100 value. Despite occasional concern about his right heel/Achilles, he's playing in back-to-back sets and hasn't missed a game since Nov. 14.

  • Rudy Gay erupted vs. the Lakers on Wednesday with a season-high 31 points on 12-of-21 shooting, adding seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Advice: Gay hit 5-of-5 free throws with two 3-pointers in 35 minutes, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Spurs from falling to 4-10 on the road this season. This is a startling about-face from his scoreless game vs. Utah, especially since this was the second half of a back-to-back set. The shot attempts tonight were easily a season-high and the Spurs' medical staff doesn't seem overly concerned about his troublesome right heel/Achilles, so his arrow is pointing up for fantasy owners.

  • Rudy Gay failed to score in 19 minutes vs. the Jazz on Tuesday, missing three shots.
Advice: The rest of his line wasn't much better with one rebound, one assist and one steal. Gay has had one good outing in his last five games to go with four duds, so if you want to move on for a more consistent option it makes sense.
