You could use a lot of words to describe San Antonio's recent home stretch. The Spurs took out playoff teams, swung 20+ point margins both ways, and went to overtime twice. With just 11 games left, the Silver and Black will take their show on the road for a four-game road trip, starting with a matchup against the Pelicans in New Orleans. After a stretch of long, physical games, the Spurs injury report has gotten crowded once again.
The Los Angeles Lakers may have salvaged what was turning into yet another disappointing season when they traded Russell Westbrook, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damian Jones and a 2027 first-round draft pick for D'Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley a day before the trade deadline. Many fans would've been happy if the team had simply dumped Westbrook without getting anything of value in return.
The Pelicans are currently the 12th seed at the time of this writing and face a razor-thin margin of error. The team needs to move up to at least the 10th seed in the Western Conference to make the play-in.
