After the Golden State Warriors cruised to a 3-0 lead to start the series, the Denver Nuggets put up a fight in game four to push the series to game five. On Wednesday in the Bay Area, the Nuggets looked like they weren’t ready for their season to end.

The Nuggets and Warriors traded haymakers in a grinding contest until the third quarter. Behind a fiery run from Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets grabbed an eight-point lead heading into the final 12 minutes. With the pressure of closing the series out at home, Steph Curry and Gary Payton II fueled a late comeback for Golden State.

With Curry heating up, Payton II buried a clutch triple to help the Warriors steal back the lead with three minutes remaining in the contest. Payton II came through again with another 3-pointer to extend Golden State’s lead to five with just over a minute remaining.

While Payton II came through clutch, Curry stayed hot in his first appearance in the starting lineup of the series. The two-time Most Valuable Player tallied 30 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the floor with five triples, five assists, five rebounds and two steals in a series-high 38 minutes.

Behind Curry and Payton II in the fourth quarter, the Warriors punched their ticket to the next round of the postseason with a 102-98 comeback victory over the Nuggets in game five.

Following Golden State’s 4-1 series win against Denver, the NBA Twitter commuity chimed in on social media with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analyst were saying on Twitter on Wednesday night.
