The Brooklyn Nets begun the 2021-22 NBA season as one of the favorites to win the NBA title.
Yet, following an eventful season, they got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, after getting swept 4-0 by the Boston Celtics.
As expected, NBA Twitter went wild following the Nets’ Game 4 loss.

“Not a single game decided by more than 7 points” is a weird comment. Congrats to the Nets who got swept but not like double digit losses every game swept, just normal swept.

I’d rather the Knicks season than what has happened to the Nets. What an absolute disaster.

it’s been 1029 days since KD & Kyrie signed with the Brooklyn Nets and they have won 1 playoff series total.

I cannot believe Kevin Durant's Brooklyn Nets just got swept.

Jokic won a game against Steph, Poole, draymond, and klay with Aaron Gordon as his second option… and you’re telling me KD and Kyrie couldn’t get 1 game with all due respect
— Mark Jackson’s Burner (@casualtakeking) April 26, 2022
I'm sorry, but Kevin Durant missed WAY TOO MANY OPEN SHOTS. Of his 18 misses, at least 10 were pretty easy by his standards. The Celtics made all the shots they needed to – many of 'em layups/putbacks. I obviously loved KD's let-it-fly mentality, but he did not redeem himself.

Ben Simmons was not at Barclays for Game 4. The Nets say it is because of the back issues he’s dealing with.

Are the Nets the most expensive team to get swept in the first round in NBA history?
— James Edwards III (@JLEdwardsIII) April 26, 2022
I don’t really think any of this is on KD. The Nets were an incredibly flawed team post-Joe Harris injury, post-James Harden trade structurally. Very little chance to defend in the playoffs almost always having three of Drummond, Mills, Dragic, Curry, Kyrie out there.
