With just one game, let’s discuss tonight’s NBA showdown slate. Remember, playing a showdown slate requires a slightly different mindset. Read on to see my top NBA plays, focusing on showdown strategy. Good Luck!
Rondo has played very well as of late. He’s averaging 28.2 DK points over his last three games racking up a variety of stats. You can count on the 34 years old point guard for steals, rebounds, points, and most notably assists. If your game narrative involves the Lakers winning, Rondo becomes an important piece of your lineup. If you’re counting on a great game from Rajon, you’re most likely banking on success out of the Lakers’ second unit, and if the Lakers second unit exceeds expectations, you can count on a Lakers victory (in this scenario). The Lakers are favored by -315 with a 214.5 O/U.
Other PG Option: Jamal Murray - Denver Nuggets (vs. Los Angeles)

Kentavious Caldwell - Pope - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Denver Nuggets)
Caldwell - Pope performed very well in game one, He totaled 26.25 DK points over 30 minutes of play. With a solid floor and relatively low salaries, KCP is worth a look tonight. In his impressive game one effort, Caldwell-Pope shot 6 for 10 but his assists and rebounds were lacking. The matchups are in his favor. His overall usage should be high and at his current salary, I expect him to hit value tonight.
Other SG Option: Gary Harris - Denver Nuggets (vs. Los Angeles Lakers)
Danny Green - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Denver Nuggets)
Green was playing very well over the first few minutes of game one, then he hit foul trouble. He was able to avoid major foul trouble going forward but it’s hard to get your rhythm back after hitting the bench just 4 minutes into the game. Denver’s defense was focused on stopping Lebron from penetrating which resulted in opportunities for KCP. In game two, Green could easily benefit from the same situation. Danny Green is a potential GPP gem. He will be low rostered and carries a significant upside considering his low prices around the industry. Roster KCP or Green, not both.
Other SF Option: Micheal Porter Jr. - Denver Nuggets (vs. LA Lakers)
Anthony Davis - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Denver Nuggets)
Can Denver stop Anthony Davis? I don’t believe so, which is why I like the Lakers to win tonight. It’s one thing if Denver was outplayed in certain situations, it’s another to simply not have the personnel necessary to maintain Davis. AD had 56.0 DK points in game one. I would not expect anything less for game two. Lock in Anthony Davis until Denver proves they have a viable solution for Davis’ length and speed.
Other PF Option: Marcus Morris - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Denver Nuggets)
Dwight Howard - Los Angeles Lakers (Denver Nuggets)
Dwight played 16 minutes in the opening game of this series scoring 13 points. He showed up defensively with two steals and two blocks as well. Totaling 23.75 DK points at a DraftKings salary of $3,400, Dwight was a valuable play in game one. With a decrease in salary (which I don’t get), Dwight becomes a solid play tonight. The Lakers were +14 with Howard on the court. Invest in the big man for GPP tournaments only.
Other C Option: Nikola Jokic - Denver Nuggets (vs. Los Angeles Lakers)
