Point Guard

Kyle Lowry - Toronto Raptors (vs. Portland Trail Blazers)

RULED OUT - Pivot to VanVleet

On a small slate, Damien Lillard will be a popular investment. Lowry has vastly improved his game over the last two seasons and is a viable candidate to out-perform Lillard tonight. The Raptors have lost 10 of their 11 games and are currently underdogs by +1.5 points with a 231 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com. Lowry has averaged 38.3 fantasy points per game this season. His production has been low throughout his last two outings. I expect him to pick up the slack tonight and regain elite form. Back in February, Lowry was reaching 58.3 point ceilings. I wouldn’t say we could expect this tonight but don’t get used to the 20 fantasy point efforts that we have seen from him over his last two outings.

Shooting Guard

C.J. McCollum - Portland Trail Blazers (vs Toronto Raptors)

McCollum is my favorite play of the day. As I’ve mentioned in prior articles, Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet are top-notch defenders and constantly force the opposition to make the first (or the second) pass. I’m expecting Damien Lillard to be a popular play tonight, but why not pivot to McCollum. VanVleet is 6’1 and will likely be tasked to maintain Norman Powell. With Lillard and Lowry expected to defend one another, this leaves the 6’7 CJ McCollum being defended by OG Anunoby or someone of lesser size. McCollum should have high usage and is seemingly in a favorable match-up.

Other SG Option: Fred VanVleet - Toronto Raptors (vs. Portland Trail Blazers)

Small Forward

Tony Snell - Atlanta Hawks (vs. Denver Nuggets)

Similar to the Toronto Raptors, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets play sound defense which requires rapid ball movement. Trae Young could potentially be a popular play on tonight’s small 3 game slate, but instead of going with a potentially chalky play, why not grab value in Tony Snell. Snell has played at least 21 minutes in each of his last three games. His production is mediocre to low but the potential is there. If your strategy is to fade Young, investing in players like Snell, Bogdanovic, and Huerter becomes extremely important. The Denver Nuggets are favored by -186 with a 222 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com

Other SF Options: Kyle Kuzma - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Orlando Magic)

Power Forward

Paul Millsap - Denver Nuggets (vs. Atlanta Hawks)

The Denver Nuggets have some size mismatches for tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. You are going to want to pick at least one of the superstar centers playing in this game (i.e. Jokic & Capela). But when it comes to power forwards, the daily fantasy masses should flock towards John Collins and there is no problem with that. But for pivoting purposes, Millsap has equal, if not higher potential tonight at lower ownership and cheaper salaries. The Denver Nuggets are favored by -4.5 points with a 222 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com. He will be heavily involved in a win or a loss.

Other PF Option: Robert Covington - Portland Trail Blazers (vs. Toronto Raptors)

Center

Nikola Jokic - Denver Nuggets (vs. Atlanta Hawks)

When constructing your lineups tonight, your first decision must be Jokic or Capela? One of these centers will produce in a big way despite high salaries. As mentioned above, the Denver Nuggets are favored by -4.5 points with a 222 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com. This game is expected to go back and forth, exposure to at least one of these centers is imperative. The Atlanta Hawks are allowing 10.3 offensive rebounds per game. Jokic leads the Denver Nuggets with 131 offensive rebounds so far this season. If Denver is going to compete with an Atlanta Hawks team that has won 9 out of their last 11 games, Denver’s Allstar center is going to have to come to play.

Other C Option: Clint Capela - Atlanta Hawks (vs. Denver Nuggets)

PG Skylar Mays *long-shot punt*

SG Kevin Huerter

SF Tony Snell

PF Paul Millsap

C Marc Gasol
