Marcus Morris won't be signing with the San Antonio Spurs after all.

The ex-Celtics forward plans to sign a one-year, $15 million contract with the New York Knicks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Morris had committed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Spurs earlier this week.

Morris explained he made the decision based on what's best for his family.

It's been a rough offseason for the Knicks, but they've gained a valuable asset in Morris. The 29-year-old veteran brought an attitude and sense of leadership to a team that desperately needed it during his two-year tenure with Boston.

Morris averaged 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds for the C's last season.
