Report: Draft prospect Johnson plans to work out for Warriors originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

With two lottery picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Warriors are looking at a wide array of prospects right now. That includes perhaps the best athlete in this year's draft.

KRON4's Jason Dumas reported Tuesday that Tennessee's Keon Johnson plans to workout for the Warriors in less than two weeks on July 16.

Johnson, 19, is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who would need to add some strength his frame to be more of a wing. He's also an eye-opening athlete full of potential.

At the NBA Draft Combine, Johnson set a new record with a 48-inch max vertical. There's no doubt he'll need time to develop on the court and in the weight room, but his athleticism alone could get him on the court early.

Johnson averaged 11.3 points whille averaging 25.5 minutes per game for Tennessee as a freshman. He shot just 27.1 percent from 3-point range, but was a 70.3 percent free throw percentage. That isn't great, though it's far from a disaster.

Early in his career, Johnson should be able to use his springs and his lightning-quick first step as a slasher. He also could turn into a premier defender. There's a real chance he's an option for the Warriors at No. 7 or if he slides down to No. 14.

NBC Sports Bay Area's James Ham has Johnson landing with the Orlando Magic at No. 8 overall.
