Sixers' Round 1, Game 1 date is set originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Sixers will have exactly a week between their regular-season finale and playoff opener.

The NBA on Tuesday announced when each playoff series will begin, and the Sixers will kick things off on Sunday at Wells Fargo Center. The league has yet to announce tip-off times.

The Sixers had Monday off after resting all their normal starters in a win over the Magic. They plan to practice throughout the week, and to address issues that head coach Doc Rivers has seen recently.

"We’ve played a lot of teams with guys out over these last two weeks, and I do think that that can create bad habits," Rivers said Friday. I thought they were coming. I’m glad we have a week to try to correct some of them.”

The NBA's play-in tournament begins Tuesday night, with the Celtics, Wizards, Pacers and Hornets the four Eastern Conference teams involved. After a game Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET to determine the No. 8 seed, the top-seeded Sixers will know their first-round opponent.

Whichever team they play, the Sixers will be heavily favored.

“Right now I’m just worried about us, because we don’t know who the opponent is," Rivers said Sunday. “I guess that’s a little bit of a disadvantage. I don’t know. I think the advantage is we get the practice time. We’re going to work on a lot of stuff that really pertains to us first, and then I think by (Thursday) we’ll know or have a better idea, and then we can start working on the other team.”
