Point Guard

Devonte Graham - New Orleans Pelicans (vs. New York Knicks)

A player who could significantly benefit from a Knicks loss would be Devonte’ Graham. The daily fantasy pairing of Devonte Graham and Jonas Valanciunas makes a lot of sense. In a hypothetical win, they would both work well together and have the best matchups on their team. Graham would be matching up against Kemba Walker. If you are going to exploit a New York team, Walker is where you’d start. In my opinion, the first decision you have to make before constructing your daily fantasy lineups for tonight is, who do you think will win this Knicks game?

Other PG Option: Kemba Walker

Shooting Guard

RJ Barrett - New York Knicks (vs. New Orleans Pelicans)

The New York Knicks are in a great spot tonight. Sitting at -7.5 point favorites against a New Orleans Pelicans team that will likely be without Brandon Ingram. He’s currently doubtful with no signs of an upgrade. With their lone superstar likely out against a thriving Knicks squad, I fully expect a Knicks victory (covering the spread). When you look at the individual matchups it’s hard not to like this New York team tonight. If Randle can’t get it done, expect Barrett and Fournier to pick up the pace. Barrett is a solid DFS option at a DK salary of $5,600. Barrett’s totals have hovered in a mediocre range of 29-31 DK FP. Tonight that changes. Look for his first ceiling game of the season against a hobbled New Orleans starting lineup.

Other SG Option: Evan Fournier

Small Forward

Jayson Tatum - Boston Celtics (vs. Washington Wizards)

Showdown Slate

Marcus Smart is another noteworthy injury on this early showdown slate. Dennis Schroder will start for the veteran guard. Expect Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum to produce at a higher pace as well. Boston is filled with value tonight. Washington will be starting Harrell who is known for producing heavily offensively but has also struggled defensively.

Other SF Options: Saddiq Bey

Power Forward

Al Horford - Boston Celtics (vs. Washington Wizards)

Showdown Slate

Robert Williams is out tonight leaving Al Horford to assume Boston’s duties at the five. This matchup is expected to remain close. PointsBet has the Wizards as -2.0 point favorites with a 224 O/U. Horford has exceeded expectations so far this season producing 41.8, 44.5, 38.8 DK FP in his first three games. This game is at 5:00 pm ET so this is for showdown slates / all-day slates only. At an MVP DK salary of $11,400, Horford must be considered for the MVP slot on this early showdown slate.

Other PF Option: Kyle Kuzma

Center

Jonas Valanciunas - New Orleans Pelicans (vs. New York Knicks)

I think the Knicks are going to be a relatively popular play tonight. When considering GPP pivot plays it’s always good to find a realistic narrative against the chalk. If the Knicks struggle with their offense, Jonas Valanciunas will produce fantasy-wise. Pairing increased rebounds with an offensive usage uptick (if Ingram is confirmed out), Valanciunas could very well be the GPP play of the night if the Knicks allow for a closer affair than I’d expected.

Other C Option: Julius Randle

PG Derrick Rose
