Point Guard

Jevon Carter - Brooklyn Nets (vs. Cleveland Cavaliers)

I expect Patty Mills to be a popular play with Brooklyn’s injuries to Brown and Harris. Well, in a GPP narrative where Brooklyn struggles, I don’t believe Mills succeeds. Pair this with their current injuries and you can find significant value on Brooklyn’s second unit. Jevon Carter would be the benefactor of this narrative. Carter will run the point and in a blowout should receive extended minutes. Carter has a Draftkings salary of $3,000 and a FanDuel salary of $3,900. With everyone on Harden, pivot to Carter in the blowout narrative

Other PG Option: Darius Garland

Shooting Guard

Isaac Okoro - Cleveland Cavaliers (vs. Brooklyn Nets)

Joe Harris and Bruce Brown will be out tonight for the Brooklyn Nets as they face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This will leave Brooklyn without two crucial role players. This will affect the Nets in one of two ways. One, offensive usage will shift to their best players in Durant and Harden. Or two, the absences of Brown and Harris result in poor offensive performance. Considering the Cavaliers allow the third-lowest PPG to their opponents so far this season, I like option two for pivoting purposes. Kevin Durant and James Harden will be chalk plays tonight. For GPP pivoting purposes take a look at Jarrett Allen and Isaac Okoro. Both players will benefit if the Nets cannot produce tonight. Brooklyn is only -5.5 point favorites with a low 208 O/U. Don’t count out the Cavaliers tonight. Although they have lost three in a row, before this streak they were 9-3 in the previous 12 games. Okoro has seen major minutes over his last three games (42, 39, 32) and Cleveland will need him to play a lot again tonight. His ceiling has not been displayed yet but it’s coming. I can guarantee you that. Okoro is a talented SF who has been games ahead if he continues to get the minutes. He and Jarrett Allen are my top plays from this Cleveland team that I like tonight at +195.

Other SG Option: Anthony Edwards

Small Forward

Jayson Tatum - Boston Celtics (vs. Houston Rockets)

Throughout this article, I will make it extremely clear that the two teams I am most confident in tonight are the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The rosters percentages for Boston’s starting five should remain low considering the return of Jaylen Brown. I’d like to take advantage of this by investing in Jayson Tatum and Al Horford. Boston’s matchup against the Houston Rockets is extremely favorable tonight but for me, it’s just too soon to invest in Jaylen Brown. This leaves us with Jayson Tatum and Al Horford. My reasoning for investing in Jayson Tatum is simple. I expect Boston to blow out the Houston Rockets at home with Jaylen Brown returning. Brown improves Boston’s overall success despite garnering some offensive usage. If you’re constructing a daily fantasy lineup based on the narrative that A given team will blow out, make sure to load up on players who see high rebound numbers, the ability to play well in transition, as well as someone capable of performing in just 3/4 of play. Tatum tracks all of these boxes Al Horford is another player who I like tonight at hopefully lol roster percentages.

Power Forward

Al Horford - Boston Celtics (vs. Houston Rockets)

Jaylen Brown is expected to return tonight. He has not played since 11/4. Whether he’s on a minutes restriction or not, his primary effect on this slate will be keeping Boston’s rosters percentages low. Nobody is going to want to pay premium prices for any Celtics tonight with Jalen Brown expected to soak up much of their offensive numbers. Well, a solid GPP play could be to invest heavily in this Boston offense. Yes, Brown’s return will mean fewer shot attempts for Smart, Tatum, and Horford but it could also result in a dominant performance against a favorable matchup. The Rockets might be without their starting PG Kevin Porter Jr. Boston’s Robert Williams is also questionable on Boston’s side. If Porter sits (even if he doesn’t), Boston is another great investment on this 10-game slate. Al Horford should see increased usage with Williams questionable. He also has a solid matchup against Houston’s Daniel Theis. Horford is the type of player who would significantly benefit in a blowout due to his ability to grab rebounds, force blocks, and turnovers as well as score. Some might see the return of Brown as a DFS negative, I see it as GPP goodness in a game where I expect Boston to blow out. Cleveland and Boston, lock it in!

Other PF Option: John Collins

Center

Jarrett Allen - Cleveland Cavaliers (vs. Brooklyn Nets)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are my top conventional gambling play of the night. I believe the absence of Brown and Harris will cause major problems in this Nets offense. Other than Okoro, Jarrett Allen is another sneaky play in Cleveland tonight. If Brooklyn struggles, Allen will see increased rebounds, shot attempts, as well as steals/blocks. His matchups shouldn’t be too problematic especially if he sees Blake Griffin one on one. Allen should excel tonight in a Cleveland victory.

Other C Option: Karl Anthony-Towns
