Eric Bledsoe - Milwaukee Bucks - (vs. Orlando Magic) DK: $5800 FD: $5800 Yahoo: $20
Bledsoe hasn’t had a very good series. His minutes are hovering in the mid 20’s and his field goal percentages are very low. He hasn’t needed to show up as Milwaukee has pretty much dominated since the first game. His best effort was on August 22 where he scored 37.3 DK points in 26 minutes. If Orlando can keep this game close, Bledsoe will need to play more than 30 minutes resulting in 35 + projected fantasy points. Making line ups today with the narrative that Orlando can keep this game close, is your best bet for taking down a GPP tournament. If you decide to roster Bledsoe, D.J. Augustin becomes a must play along with potentially Evan Fournier (if he finally comes to play). This first game is key to making the optimal GPP lineup.
Evan Fournier - Orlando Magic - (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) DK: $5400 FD: $5300 Yahoo: $20
Fournier finally played well in their last game on August 24. He scored 33.5 fantasy points and played 36 minutes. You are never going to have to worry about Fournier not getting the minutes. He has averaged 34 minutes per game in this series and is essentially blowout proof. The Orlando Magic know that in order for them to have a chance today Fournier must be aggressive. Most of my GPP lineups are under the narrative that Orlando can keep this one close. Investing in Fournier is an investment in the Orlando Magic. Very rarely can you roster a player who is guaranteed 30 plus minutes with a high ceiling at such low salaries across the industry. The Orlando Magic are 13.5 point underdogs with a 225 under/over.
Other SG Option: Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Orlando Magic)
LeBron James - Los Angeles Lakers - (vs. Portland Trail Blazers) DK: $10800 FD: $10600 Yahoo: $51
This is the game that we’re paying up for tonight. Lebron will show up. The Lakers are favored by 13.5 points with a 223.5 under/over. Lebron has averaged 56.9 DK points per game in this series while taking only 61 total field goal attempts. The Lakers run through Lebron. If Portland can maintain or shutdown Anthony Davis, expect a massive game from James. Even if they are playing together, both players have high floors and massive ceilings. Rostering Lebron and Davis is the safest play on the board...If you can afford it. Check out today’s Bargain Bin section to see how you can afford Lebron and/or Anthony Davis. This position is lacking today. Make sure LeBron James is in your lineup.
Other SF Option: Kyle Kuzma - Los Angeles Lakers - (vs. Portland Trail Blazers)
Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks - (vs. Orlando Magic) DK: $11300 FD: $11500 Yahoo: $56
Antetokounmpo will be a crucial part of a game one game stack. Milwaukee’s superstar is going to have to come to play today, if Orlando keeps this game close. As I mentioned above, your best path to a GPP victory will be by investing in a game one game stack. If you are assuming that Orlando keeps this game close, expect massive usage from Antetokounmpo in the second half. An Orlando/Milwaukee game stack makes sense for many reasons. We all saw Vucevic go off in the most competitive game this series. Markelle Fultz supplied much of Orlando’s offense in that one. Today, I expect Eric Bledsoe to shutdown Fultz, leaving much of Orlando’s offensive usage to the big man Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier. Keep reading to see why Vuc is my top play of the day. The Orlando Magic are big underdogs with a 225 under/over.
Other PF Option: Anthony Davis - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Portland Trail Blazers)
Nikola Vucevic - Orlando Magic (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) DK: $9200 FD: $9000 Yahoo: $40
As you can see, I love this first game. My confidence in Fournier is slowly returning. D.J. Augustin might be my most played GPP player this postseason and Vucevic is a beast. Vuc has actually been extremely consistent averaging 48.8 DK points over his last three games. The Magic have seen success with the two man game. Fultz and Vuc looked solid in game one using this strategy. Today, let’s see if Fournier can step in and do what has gotten them to this point. Investing in Bledsoe, Giannis, Vuc, Fournier and Augustin is the perfect game stack to me. Taking down a GPP tournament on a three game playoff slate is tough. You need to be contrarian while simultaneously forming a lineup that makes sense or is plausible. Today, this is my most plausible contrarian narrative. The Bucks have proven incapable of shutting down Vucevic so far. Today, the Magic keep this one close allowing for massive fantasy production from players like Fournier and Bledsoe to step up.
Other C Option: Hassan Whiteside - Portland Trail Blazers - (vs. Los Angeles Lakers)
D.J. Augustin - Orlando Magic - (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) DK: $4900 FD: $4500 Yahoo: $11
With so many solid pay up plays today, the real key to this slate is finding the value plays. Value plays will allow you to invest in multiple super stars. Hassan Whiteside should be a popular value play at 4,900 on DraftKings but I’d like to talk about D.J. Augustin. Augustin has been playing great since heading to the bench. Over this series, he’s actually averaging 26.5 minutes per game to go along with 23.2 DK points per outing. At salaries hovering around $4,500 on Draftkings and Fanduel, Augustin is the safest value play on the board. The Magic could keep this one close, and I don’t think Fultz will be the one who brings it. Fournier and/or Augustin for me all day long!
