Report: Bogdan Bogdanovic signs 4-year, $72M offer sheet with Hawks; waits for Kings to match

Bogdan Bogdanovic has signed a four-year offer sheet with the Atlanta Hawks worth $72 million, Marc Stein of the New York Times reported. Bogdanovic, a restricted free agent, will now wait and see if the Sacramento Kings match the offer.

The shooting guard averaged 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 2020, his third NBA season. All are with the Kings, who have 48 hours to match the deal. If they do match the offer, per Stein, Bogdanovic will have a full no-trade clause in his first season. He reportedly cannot be traded to Atlanta.

The Kings had a sign-and-trade in place to send Bogdanovic to the Milwaukee Bucks that involved other players from each team. But it fell apart on the night of the draft reportedly because Bogdanovic had not agreed to the deal.

The NBA is investigating the Bucks and the Kings for tampering, believing the deal was done and ready before the beginning of the new year. That began Friday at 6 p.m. ET.

The Bucks are trying to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy and in town for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile the Hawks are going all-out in the early days of free agency. They’ve agreed with Danilo Gallinari, Rajon Rondo and Kris Dunn.
