The Warriors -- guaranteed to end up with a top-five pick in the 2020 NBA Draft -- might end up with the No. 1 overall selection.

Anthony Edwards is considered one of the very top prospects and could be the first player off the board.

But the Warriors "haven't been able to set up a meeting (via Zoom) with Edwards yet," The Athletic's Anthony Slater reported Thursday.

Does this mean Golden State is not interested in the 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Georgia? Absolutely not, although it's possible the Warriors aren't high on him to begin with.

We have a long way to go before the draft is held Oct. 15, and the front office has plenty of time to do its due diligence.

"We've had a chance to (virtually) interview a lot of the guys who we're interested in," coach Steve Kerr told The Athletic's Tim Kawakami on "The TK Show" earlier this week. "We haven't worked any of them out.

"There's a lot of work ahead, and a lot of information to be gained."

Edwards averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals over 32 games in a Bulldogs uniform this season.

He was not efficient -- 40.2 percent overall and 29.4 percent from 3-point range -- but showed off his potential with some incredible performances.

Edwards -- who doesn't turn 19 years old until Aug. 5 -- still is learning how to play.

"I think he needs to work on attacking the basket a little more," his brother, Antoine, told Dell and Sonya Curry on the "Raising Fame: Sports Edition" podcast last month. "He settles for the jump shot a lot when he's pretty strong and big.

"He gets to the hole with contact -- people slapping and grabbing his arm -- and he still can lay the ball up. You do that with ease. Why sit out there and make a difficult shot when you do something easy?"
