Here's a preview of our crew-wide ranks for shooting guards! The crew projected each position and we combined them to arrive at one cumulative value. There were some interesting outliers, too, with columns discussing why some of us were very high (or low) on certain players.
Note: These ranks are specific to 8-cat! The Guide also has Top-200 ranks for 9-cat, Points and Dynasty.
For every player listed in the ranks, you can also find player previews, like this one for Caris LeVert:
2018-19: LeVert’s season got off to an amazing start but was derailed on Nov. 12 when he left with a gruesome right foot injury, which somehow didn’t require surgery. He returned to action on Feb. 8 and finished the season averaging 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 3-pointers in 27 minutes a night. However, before the injury, those numbers were closer to 17 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 3-pointers, although he’s never been a good free throw shooter, and clocked in at just 69.1 percent.
What’s Changed: LeVert should come into the season healthy and will hopefully pick up where he left off after a dominant showing in the playoffs with 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 dimes, 1.0 steals and 2.4 triples. D’Angelo Russell has been replaced by Kyrie Irving, while Kevin Durant (Achilles) joined the Nets but is unlikely to play at all during the regular season. The Nets gave Levert a huge vote of confidence over the summer, extending his deal for three years and $52M.
Outlook: LeVert was on pace for top-35 numbers in 9-cat in his first 12 games, and he later found that same success vs. Philly in the postseason. He'll be the No. 2 option on offense next to Kyrie, and there's clear top-50 upside here if he can just improve his FT% -- that's not out of the question since he hit 72% and 71% in his previous two seasons. He's a rock solid target in the middle rounds, and if Kyrie rests a ton then LeVert could be even better than we think.”
