POINT GUARD

Dejounte MurraySan Antonio Spurs (vs. Sacramento) - DK: $9,700 / FD: $9,500 / Yahoo: $40

With so many games on the slate there are going to be a lot of ways to be successful (or fail) tonight. I’m aiming to build a solid lineup with upside that gets me exposure to as many good players in good matchups as I can afford. Murray is the perfect cornerstone for this build, given that the Kings are a top guard matchup, give up the ninth-most overall fantasy points, and play at the seventh-fastest pace. Murray continues to just miss triple-double numbers every night and has eight steals in his last three games.

Also Consider: Ja Morant, Steph Curry, LaMelo Ball, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Monte Morris/Bones Hyland

SHOOTING GUARD

Norman Powell – Portland (at Phoenix) - DK: $5,600 / FD: $6,500 / Yahoo: $21

This is one of the potentially higher scoring games of the night, with the Suns decent home favorites over a Trail Blazers team that is struggling to break even right now. CJ McCollum is struggling lately and Damian Lillard isn’t bad, but hasn’t been worth the price, so I’m keying in on two of the cheaper Portland options that have been stepping up. Phoenix isn’t the defensive fortress that they were last year, and Powell has been able to exceed 35 fantasy points in three of his last four games. He’s mainly here for his scoring, but he has filled the stat sheet with a few assists, rebounds and even a couple blocks or steals in every game. He offers a floor of 25ish and upside of 40-plus fantasy points tonight.

Also Consider: James Harden, Devin Booker, Jordan Poole, Josh Giddey, Fred VanVleet, Jalen Brunson, Derrick White

SMALL FORWARD

Kevin Durant – Brooklyn (at Orlando) - DK: $10,900 / FD: $10,500 / Yahoo: $51

It would be easier to go with a full mid-range solid build tonight, but I keep staring at Durant, like he’s the guy to not fade tonight. He’s been notably better on the road so far this season, and is averaging almost 30 points per game. He’s double-doubled in two of his last three games, and tonight gets the matchup that could yield another 70-fantasy point burst (not seen since the opening night triple-double). Durant is the fourth-highest ranked player in the league in player efficiency rating, and should dominate against a Magic team that ranks sixth in overall fantasy points allowed, around fifth to forwards, and second in turnover rate.

Also Consider: Jimmy Butler, DeMar DeRozan, OG Anunoby, RJ Barrett, Saddiq Bey, Kyle Anderson, Keldon Johnson

POWER FORWARD

JaMychal Green – Denver (vs. Indiana) - DK: $3,200 / FD: $3,800 / Yahoo: $14

This is the trickiest position for me to fill tonight (unless you slot Durant in here). Ultimately, we need to take advantage of some of the value in Denver. With Jokic suspended and Michael Porter Jr. out, both Greens, JaMychal and Jeff, should have increased opportunities tonight. Indiana offers a nice pace boost as well as one of the highest turnover rates in the league. In as many as 18 MPG this season, Green is generally putting up about a fantasy point per minute or more. If he plays 20-plus minutes, he should be a nice value option to help you get another star in this lineup.

Also Consider: Julius Randle, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Draymond Green, Evan Mobley, Jayson Tatum, Pascal Siakam, Kyle Kuzma

CENTER

Jusef Nurkic – Portland (at Phoenix) - DK: $7,200 / FD: $6,900 / Yahoo: $27

Nurkic is not a must-have for me tonight, but as noted above I do like this game, and he has been hot recently. You could easily choose to spend up on a few quality options at the center position, or to save even more with guys like Eubanks or McGee. Nurkic fits the solid with upside description I started with and given that the Suns are without Deandre Ayton, this should be a better matchup for him than it would otherwise. As is, he’s averaging a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double, and has the potential to really stuff the stat sheet with multiple assists and blocks.

Also Consider: Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Davis, Drew Eubanks, JaMychal Green, JaVale McGee, Richaun Holmes, Christian Wood

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Drew Eubanks (PF/C – SAS) is coming off a big fantasy game, but hasn’t really seen his salary rise. He’s been a reliable filler at PF or C for the price, and this game is a good one to take advantage of the savings. Sacramento is the second-best center matchup in the league. Expect Eubanks to put up another quality stat line equal to about 30 fantasy points.

Jordan Poole (G – GSW) feels like the poor person’s Curry lately. Curry’s salary is just too high for me tonight, but I love the game and matchups on both sides. Poole and Jalen Brunson are two guards I love tonight for the value. Both have seen their salaries rise, but both are chipping in 35-ish fantasy points on a regular basis while playing heavy minutes. Poole’s scoring has been amazing, which should continue as Minnesota is the fourth-best SG matchup, but the Timberwolves also rank 30th in rebounding and fourth in turnover rate, so we could see rebounding and steal numbers creep up for all the Warriors tonight.
