POINT GUARD

Ja Morant – Memphis (vs. Detroit) - DK: $9,200 / FD: $10,200 / Yahoo: $40

On tonight’s small slate, there are surprisingly more than a few ways to build a likeable lineup. Mine start with Morant in every scenario. He is pricey, but he has been delivering on the promise with full stat lines in every game of the last two weeks. Tonight he gets a very friendly matchup with Detroit, the eighth-best fantasy matchup overall. Detroit ranks third in turnover rate and 28th in rebounding, so Morant should have another stellar game and be worth the high price.

Also Consider: Chris Paul, Alec Burks

SHOOTING GUARD

Devin Booker – Phoenix (vs. LA Clippers) - DK: $8,700 / FD: $8,800 / Yahoo: $34

The Suns are big favorites over LA tonight, and originally I wasn’t so high on Booker, but he just fits. He’s an incredibly consistent way to fill this SG slot and in cash games, there isn’t a better option if you’re willing to save on forwards. Booker has been basically scoring at will and filling the stat sheet even in blowout victories, so the spread isn’t too concerning.

Also Consider: Cade Cunningham, Brandon Ingram, Xavier Moon

SMALL FORWARD

Josh Hart – New Orleans (vs. Golden State) - DK: $6,400 / FD: $7,600 / Yahoo: $27

The Warriors are on a back-to-back, on the road, and this game still has the highest point total of the night (220.5 points). The Warriors are the best defensive team in the league, but do turn the ball over at the second-highest rate. Hart has put together an unbroken string of quality performances dating back to mid-December. He’s been a lock for double-digit points and has double-doubled in three of the last four games. Given what he’s done, in good and bad matchups, he’s an affordable and steady way to fill the SF slot tonight.

Also Consider: Hamidou Diallo, R.J. Barrett, Andrew Wiggins

POWER FORWARD

Jalen Smith – Phoenix (vs. LA Clippers) - DK: $5,300 / FD: $5,900 / Yahoo: $17

With Deandre Ayton set to sit out at least one more game, we can roster Smith for some nice savings at PF/C. He’s scored double-digit points in the last five games, two of those ending as double-doubles with 12 and 14 rebounds. Plus, he has six blocks in the last fout games. Smith should see decent run once again in a game with the short-handed Clippers, who rank just 27th in rebounding.

Also Consider: Julius Randle, Saddiq Bey, Jaren Jackson Jr.

CENTER

Brandon Clarke – Memphis (vs. Detroit) - DK: $4,400 / FD: $5,600 / Yahoo: $14

Speaking of short-handed, the Grizzlies are down a few key players and Clarke has been stepping up to fill the void. Over the last three games he’s played 23-25 MPG and averaged almost 1.5 fantasy points per minute. As long as Kyle Anderson, Dillon Brooks and Xavier Tillman remain out tonight, Clarke should see the same kind of opportunity in a very nice matchup.

Also Consider: Jonas Valanciunas, Steven Adams, Robert Williams, Trey Lyles

ADDITIONAL NOTES

R.J. Barrett (F – NYK) is an up and down player so you have to embrace the volatility when you roster him but I like him and Alec Burks tonight with Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose out. Both are reasonably priced, and Barrett has had a couple of high-quality games lately. He’s scored at least 15 points and posted 27 fantasy points in each of the last four, and his previous game against Boston was a good one too.
