POINT GUARD

Cole Anthony – Orlando (at Detroit) - DK: $6,400 / FD: $7,100 / Yahoo: $22

Anthony continues to hold down the point in Orlando, even as Jalen Suggs is also playing well. He’s reliably playing 35 MPG and returning about a fantasy point per minute. He may have a bit more upside in tonight’s matchup with a Pistons team that plays fast (eighth-fastest pace) and gives up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards. While these two teams are no offensive powerhouses, neither are they intimidating on the defensive end. I think this could be a sneaky good game to draw upon when building lineups tonight.

Also Consider: Steph Curry, D’Angelo Russell, Kemba Walker, Lonzo Ball, Dejounte Murray, Trae Young, Ja Morant

SHOOTING GUARD

Donovan Mitchell – Utah (at Chicago) - DK: $8,700 / FD: $8,100 / Yahoo: $39

Mitchell without Mike Conley is like one of those unwritten rules in DFS. Unlike the aforementioned game, these two teams are among the best in the league defensively, but it should be a competitive game start to finish. That’s when Mitchell has the most upside; he’s one of the most consistent options at the position anyway, but his stats suffer in the Jazz’ blowout wins. Tonight he should be good for a 35-40ish floor with 50-plus upside.

Also Consider: Fred VanVleet, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Tyler Herro, Josh Giddey, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Andrew Wiggins

SMALL FORWARD

Saddiq Bey – Detroit (vs. Orlando) - DK: $6,900 / FD: $6,600 / Yahoo: $24

Despite the fact that the Pistons are winless, Bey is having a really nice season so far. He’s shot exactly 50 percent from the field in his last three games, averaging nearly a double-double with 18 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game. The Magic rank 30th in defensive efficiency and give up the second-most fantasy points to small forwards (and fourth-most overall). Bey is a solid mid-range play for your cash game lineups tonight.

Also Consider: Jimmy Butler, Mikal Bridges, Brandon Ingram, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Chris Duarte, Gary Trent

POWER FORWARD

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee (at Denver) - DK: $11,400 / FD: $11,300 / Yahoo: $56

I don’t headline with the Greek Freak every time he plays, though there would be nothing wrong with that. I figure that if you can afford to play him, you play him. Tonight, however, I’m making the point to start with Giannis and build around him. Not only is this game the highest over/under, but San Antonio gives up the most fantasy points to power forwards while playing at a pace almost as fast as the Bucks themselves. Even though there are a lot of ways to go with all the stars on this slate, I really don’t want to fade Antetokounmpo.

Also Consider: Julius Randle, Domantas Sabonis, John Collins, Tobias Harris, Evan Mobley

CENTER

Mo Bamba – Orlando (at Detroit) - DK: $6,500 / FD: $6,400 / Yahoo: $25

Bamba is coming off a huge fantasy game vs. Toronto yesterday, in which he posted season highs in rebounds (18), blocks (3) and assists (5) en route to 50 fantasy points. I’ve noted already the attractive factors around this game, and could add that along with their other defensive weaknesses, Detroit allows the third-most fantasy points per game to centers. Bamba is an easy fit on FanDuel and Yahoo, but I am finding it somewhat better to spend down to Mitchell Robinson on DraftKings. Robinson has a wider range of outcomes, partially overlapping with Bamba, for $1300 less of the salary cap.

Also Consider: Bam Adebayo, Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, Jonas Valanciunas, Mitchell Robinson

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Fred VanVleet (G – TOR) is coming off a down game and in a back-to-back, which should keep his roster percentage down tonight. I expect a nice bounce-back from him and am keeping him in mind for tournament lineups or for when I just can’t quite pay the extra for Donovan Mitchell at SG.

Tyler Herro (G – MIA) has been more good than bad this season, and though his minutes have fluctuated a lot, his salary has stayed pretty fair given his ceiling. While Miami ranks first in defensive efficiency and last in fantasy points allowed, Memphis is almost the opposite. They play fast, but loose, as No. 27 in defensive efficiency allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to their opponents. Herro is a reliable scorer who has added a decent amount of peripheral production to his stat lines this year. He’s a mid-range filler with a solid floor and upside due to the matchup.

Kemba Walker (G – NYK) has been great the last two games, and if people are still reluctant to trust him, being anchored in his slow start to the season, you can get him at very low rostership. New Orleans is a fantasy-friendly matchup for him, and playing nearly 30 MPG should get him to value pretty easily tonight.
