Tonight, we have an 11-game NBA slate, which is also the last night of the regular season. It's been an awesome season, and I appreciate you all reading my thoughts every Wednesday. With all the news, this is one of the toughest slates to follow along with, which creates an edge. But that also means it's one of the hardest slates of the season. Make sure you follow all news before setting your lineup.
Charlotte needs to win, and they need the Pistons to lose for them to make the playoffs. If this game stays close, I would be shocked if Kemba doesn’t play over 40 minutes. With this team being one of two teams fighting for something, I think it's a safer situation we can trust. With all the value on this slate, it's not going to be hard to fit Walker. He has at least 48 fantasy points in four of the last five games and was on his way to another good game last night before the blowout.
Smith is minimum salary on FanDuel, and $3,500 on DraftKings tonight. The 76ers have ruled out Embiid, Simmons, Butler, Harris, and Reddick for tonight's game. That should leave plenty of minutes for the rookie guard. Smith started against the Heat last night and played 29 minutes. Chicago is 27th in defensive efficiency against shooting guards over the last ten games this season.
The Thunder can clinch the sixth seed with a win tonight, and while that doesn't sound like much, it means they avoid the Warriors and the Nuggets. The Thunder have been playing strong to make a push for the sixth seed and have won four straight games. The Bucks should be resting a lot of players tonight, which is my only concern about paying up for George and Westbrook. With all the value on this slate, I really like the idea of paying up for the floor of George though. He's one of my favorite spend up options on this slate.
Gorgui Dieng @ Denver Nuggets
With Gibson and Towns unlikely to play, Dieng should be in line for 25+ minutes tonight. I like him on FanDuel, but I really want to pay up at center, which I will talk about in the next write up. Dieng is power forward eligible on DraftKings, which makes him a top value target. With Gibson, Towns, Teague, Rose, and Covington off the floor, Dieng is averaging 1.23 fantasy points per minute.
It's really simple for Detroit tonight, win and you make the playoffs. If they lose and Charlotte wins, they're going to be out. There is a lot of value plays at center tonight, and I really like the idea of paying up for Drummond. With so much value, he shouldn't see over 25% ownership in a must win game. The Knicks rank 30th in defensive efficiency over the last ten games, and they're ranked 22nd against centers in that span. Drummond has at least 50 fantasy points in six of the last seven games, and Blake Griffin is doubtful to play tonight.
