If you like goats you are going to love Navy’s uniforms for the Army-Navy game. The Midshipmen will wear uniforms that pay tribute to the team’s goat mascot.

The Bill the Goat logo is featured on the team’s helmets as well as “through an assortment of distinct design details. We’ll let Navy take it from there.

The Navy Goat uniform tells the mascot and academy story through an assortment of distinct design details. The sleeves of the jersey are navy blue in color and feature two stripes on the outside with the Navy logo in the center. This color-blocking look was inspired directly from the trim of the blanket popularly worn by Billy the Goat. In addition, the goat is depicted on the sides of the helmet, charging forward and wrapped in its blanket.

To match the jersey, the pants were designed in the same shade of navy blue with a stripe down the panel of the pants that features six breaks. This same design is also echoed on the helmet, which is a nod to the school’s history since the Naval Academy was founded by six frigates.

The goat became Navy’s official mascot after the team beat Army in 1893. It was the fourth-ever game between the two schools and Navy won it shortly after it was gifted a goat from officers on a Naval ship. The good-luck goat then went from gift to mascot.

Navy and Army have worn sharp-looking uniforms for their annual game in recent years and this Navy outfit is no exception. We’re excited to see what black uniforms Army will wear for the Dec. 8 game.
