The Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest will be held on the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues at Nathan’s Famous restaurant in Coney Island after switching locations the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual Fourth of July event has become a staple and has featured some memorable performances on the festive holiday.

Last year’s women's champion, Michelle Lesco, will defend her crown, with the women’s championship beginning at 10:45 a.m. ET. Chestnut, the perennial champion of this event, will be seeking his 15th Mustard Belt championship in 16 years.

Who won last year's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest?

Joey Chestnut, who is fondly referred to as "Jaws," gobbled 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes, to break his own record of 75. Top-ranked female Miki Sudo will make her return to the contest after not participating in 2021 due to pregnancy. Prior to her maternity leave, she set a personal record of 48 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Sudo will compete with last year’s champion Michelle Lesco, who ate 30¾ hot dogs and buns at the televised event at Maimonides Park.
