Nashville music mogul Scott Borchetta injured in Trans Am Series race crash

Big Machine Racing team owner/driver and Nashville music mogul Scott Borchetta was injured Sunday in a crash while racing in the Trans Am Series at Road Atlanta.

Borchetta, 60, wrecked on Lap 24 of the 12-turn course and was transported to an Atlanta hospital. He is currently in stable condition, according to Big Machine Label Group.

“We ask everyone to please respect the Borchetta family’s privacy during this time,” the label asked in a statement.

Borchetta's label is the title sponsor of the Music City Grand Prix IndyCar race.

Borchetta, who raced at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in the 1990s and early 2000s, started competing in the Trans Am Series in 2020. His best finish came in the 2022 Music City Grand Prix last August when he made it to the podium for the first time after finishing third in the Big Machine Spiked Cooler Challenge on the streets of downtown.

Sunday's race was the 34th in Borchetta's career.

Borchetta also formed a NACAR Xfinity Series Team in 2021.

Borchetta won the NASCAR Super SuperTruck Series championship at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway 2003-05. He was inducted into the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Hall of Fame in 2020 and currently serves on the hall's board of advisors.

Some of the artists Borchetta has signed to his label over the years include Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Thomas Rhett, Sheryl Crow, Rascal Flatts, Sheryl Crow, Sugarland, Lady A, and Florida Georgia Line.
