Nashville breaks into 10 Best Cities in the U.S. in Travel+Leisure’s World’s Best Awards

Travel+Leisure's World's Best Awards for 2023 are out and Nashville is on it.

The lifestyle magazine rates cities across the globe to compile a list of the top 10 best cities in the world and in the U.S. This year Nashville broke through to make it to the 10 Best Cities in the U.S. list to rank up with the likes of New Orleans, Chicago and New York City.

Close to 165,000 Travel+Leisure readers voted on which cities in the 28th edition of the World’s Best Awards made the list by ranking cities through specific criteria calculated into a rating score. Nashville hit the list at number eight, but it was a close ranking.

Travel+Leisure's 10 Best Cities in the U.S.

Nashville came in eighth overall in the U.S. cities category receiving an 82.89 score from readers, less than a point behind number seven, New York City.

  • Food

  • Friendliness

  • Shopping

  • Value

People could choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average or poor in the categories. The final scores are averages of responses.
