MUSIC: Local concerts to feature country, rock, and more

Aug. 11—VERNON — Nashville Artist Ray Fulcher returns to the Rockville Elks Club on Saturday, Aug. 13. Doors open at 5 p.m., the show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Fulcher has written and co-written quite a few songs for Luke Combs such as "When It Rains It Pours," "Does to Me," and "Lovin' On You," which all went to Number 1 on the charts. He recently put out a new CD titled "Spray Painted Line."

Nightshift at Bandshell

MANCHESTER —Rock 'n' roll band Nightshift will perform at the Manchester Bicentennial Bandshell, on the grounds of Manchester Community College, 60 Bidwell St., on Friday, Aug.12.

The free concert begins at 7 p.m.

Night Shakers at Center Memorial Park

MANCHESTER — The Night Shakers will perform at Center Memorial Park tonight, Aug. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. as the last act in this summer's Beller's Music concert series.

These five musicians will perform a blend of vintage blues, including the formative Chicago-style electric blues from the '50s, '60s and beyond.

Legendary blues artists such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Howling Wolf are represented.

The Main Pub

MANCHESTER — California-based Americana/rock trio The Dales bring their three-part harmonies to The Main Pub, 306 Main St., on Sunday, Aug. 14. 306 Main St. The show begins at 6 p.m.

There is no cover charge.

The Dales will release their sophomore full-length album, Multi Trick Pony, on Sept. 23.

JustJeannie at Trolley Museum

EAST WINDSOR — The Connecticut Trolley Museum will host live music by JustJeannie on Friday, Aug. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. in its outside courtyard as part of its summer music series.

JustJeannie performs jazz, rock, blues, contemporary and country.

While there, take a trolley ride. Bring a lawn chair to listen to the music and pack a picnic basket (bring-your-own beer and wine is allowed).

Admission to the museum is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for children ages 2-11, and half off for museum members.

Paul Serra at the TKB Club

VERNON — Paul Serra and Country Gold will play traditional country music Friday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the TKB Club, 1 Vernon Ave.

Food will be available. There is a $10 cover charge.

Skyway Band at the Res

EAST WINDSOR — The featured performer at the East Windsor Park Summer Concert Series will be Skyway Band tonight, Aug. 11, at East Windsor Park, 27 Reservoir Road, Broad Brook section.

The free concerts are held Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy tunes from local bands in a variety of genres.

The series concludes on Aug. 26 with Shaded Soul.

Shaded Soul at Henry Park

Shaded Soul will give a concert tonight, Aug. 11, at Henry Park.

This is part of the annual Mayor Dan Champagne Summer Concert Series.

The group plays Motown, rock, pop, and disco.

All concerts in the series are free, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on McCoy Field at Henry Park.

In the event of rain, the concert will be delayed to the following Tuesday.

Bring a chair, a blanket or your dancing shoes.

The series runs through Aug. 18, when Night Shift plays popular cover band songs from the '60s, '70s, and '80s.
