STORY: Two days after winning their 20th German Cup title and sealing the 13th domestic double, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Monday (July 6) added their latest trophies to the club's collection at Allianz Arena's own museum.

Coach Hansi Flick, who took over as interim boss when Bayern sacked Niko Kovac in November, called the victory a "wonderful experience" and said that with fans, it would have been even more emotional.

Flick became the first German to win the country's league and cup double as a player and manager.

A day earlier, he and his team were received outside Munich city hall for a reception hosted by mayor Dieter Reiter who identified himself as "a long-time Bayern fan."

Reiter thanked his favourite team for the "service" they did to the city and he singled out Robert Lewandowski and the "miracles" the Polish-born player performed, calling him "sensational."

"34 goals. We haven't seen that for decades," said Reiter.
