Multiple local fire crews called to battle Tuesday night fire at Iron City Express
CRESCENT TWP. — A township business was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday night.
According to first responders, reports of a fire at the Iron City Express trucking company in the 1300 block of Main Street were first reported around 9:22 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they said that they witnessed flames rising out of the building and could hear explosions coming from inside the business.
Throughout the evening, multiple local fire departments were called to the scene of the fire to help keep the flames controlled. While they were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby structures, firefighters were forced to battle heavy smoke and high temperatures throughout the night.
No injuries were reported for employees of Iron City Express. One firefighter suffered a minor neck injury, but has since been treated and released.
An investigation into what caused the fire was launched on Wednesday morning.
