Muhlenberg football scores first win of season with victory over Lebanon
Sep. 16—Muhlenberg earned its first win of the high school football season on Friday night.
Quarterback Aaden Lopez scored the game-winning touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift the Muhls to a 13-7 win over Lebanon in a Lancaster-Lebanon Section 2 opener at Lebanon.
Lopez finished 16-for-27 passing for 137 yards and one touchdown with one interception. On the ground, the junior ran for 67 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.
Muhlenberg (1-0, 1-3) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Lopez found Michael Miller for a 30-yard touchdown.
The Cedars (0-1, 0-4) responded with a 1-yard touchdown run from Kai Rivera in the second quarter to tie it at 7-7.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Muhls orchestrated a 14-play, 64-yard, game-winning drive that ended in Lopez's rushing touchdown.
