Muguruza beats Pliskova, advances to Cincinnati final
(Reuters) - Second seed Simona Halep will face Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza in the final of the Cincinnati Open after they both won their semi-finals easily in Ohio on Saturday. Romanian Halep crushed Sloane Stephens 6-2 6-1, while Muguruza beat top seed Karolina Pliskova 6-3 6-2. Spaniard Muguruza proved much stronger on serve than the defending champion, advancing to Sunday's final in less than 80 minutes. She ended a run of six consecutive defeats against Czech Pliskova.
