A 0-0 draw against Bournemouth on Sunday meant Chelsea have now won just six of their past 34 league games. They've won one of five to start this season and are about to start on a much tougher run of fixtures.

There is one shred of hope that everyone connected to the club is clinging to: the ongoing injury crisis easing.

There's no doubt the next few weeks will see lots of players returning to fitness, and Mauricio Pochettino will have better options to choose from - plus more off the bench to help later in games.

But it's increasingly hard to see which of the missing stars are actually going to change things to the extent necessary to get this team winning.

There were some big names missing on Sunday - but how much will their returns really alter Chelsea's fortunes?

Christopher Nkunku won't be back until Christmas. Moises Caicedo is not going to transform this team the moment he steps into the side - we've seen that already.

Reece James is another elite player, but Malo Gusto has been filling in just fine - it's certainly not been a lack of quality at right-back that's our biggest issue.

Benoit Badiashile improves our options at the back, but that's not exactly going to help us score goals. Armando Broja was totally unproven even before he missed almost a year with a torn ACL.

It's natural to look to their returns as a turning point, but it's not going to be that simple.
