Mtn. Ridge girls wrap regular season with win over Clear Spring

Feb. 23—CLEAR SPRING — No. 1 Mountain Ridge took control in the second quarter, outscoring Clear Spring 21-7 to end the regular season with a 57-32 win on Thursday.

The Miners (19-3) led 10-7 after one quarter, but a big second period gave them the cushion they needed to cruise to a victory.

Mountain Ridge led 31-14 at halftime and 50-24 heading into the fourth.

Reghan Sivici's 13 points led the Miners while Sydney Snyder scored 11, Kealana Pua'auli had 10 and Rhegan Lamberson added nine.

Callie Alkire scored a game-high 16 for Clear Spring.

The Miners finished tied with Southern for the top seed in Class 1A West Region I. A coin toss on Friday determined that the Rams received the top seed and a first-round bye.

Mountain Ridge will host Hancock (1-19) in the region quarterfinals next week.
