MSU Bracketology: Final NCAA Tournament projections ahead of Sunday’s bracket reveal

Selection Sunday is here!

The unveiling of the 2023 NCAA Tournament bracket is hours away, and Michigan State basketball is considered a lock to make the field of 68. This will mark the 25th straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the Spartans, which is second to the Kansas Jayhawks, who will be making their 33 straight field this year.

With the bracket being revealed at 6 p.m. ET, we have only more day of bracket projections. So let’s take one final look at where the Spartans are projected on the morning of Selection Sunday:

Our Thoughts

Our Thoughts: All of the bracket projections I’ve seen — as well as the Bracket Matrix — have Michigan State as a No. 7 seed. So it seems pretty clear the Spartans will be on that seed line. The bigger item fans should be focusing on is who they get as their draw — both as the No. 10 seed in the first round and the No. 2 seed in their bracket should they advance to the second round. It seems like Marquette and Arizona are the two likely No. 2 seeds they’ll get stuck with in their bracket, and I personally would rather face the Golden Eagles.
