Mountain Ridge defeats Clear Spring, Northern dominates Hancock

Feb. 1—CLEAR SPRING — Will Patterson, Cameron Breighner and Owen McGeady combined for 52 points, leading Mountain Ridge to a 67-46 win over Clear Spring on Wednesday.

Patterson and Breighner each scored 18 points for the Miners (9-7).

Patterson scored nine in the first half and added seven in the third quarter. Breighner scored 10 points in the third quarter and 14 in the second half and McGeady finished with 16 points, scoring 10 in the first quarter and 12 in the first half.

Dillon Albowicz scored a game-high 24 for the Blazers. He scored 22 points across the final three quarters including 17 between the second and third.

Mountain Ridge led 16-9 after one quarter, 29-22 at halftime and 53-37 after three quarters.

Mountain Ridge hosts Bishop Walsh on Friday at 7 p.m. and it will be on radio station WTBO.

Northern 81, Hancock 37HANCOCK — Northern put up its best offensive performance of the season, dominating Hancock on Wednesday.

The Huskies (8-9) 81 points are the most they've scored in a game since the 72 they put up in the season opener against Meyersdale.

All 11 Northern players scored and all but one scored multiple times.

Alex Knauff and Abe Schilpp led the Huskies with 13 points each.

Wally Brands, Cole Folk, Luke Wilburn and Liam Stewart each scored eight.

Jacob Anderson led Hancock with 15 points including three 3-pointers.

The Huskies host Shanksville on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
