Mount View beats Meadow Bridge, heads to River View tonight

Jan. 12—WELCH — Zymir Martin fired up 18 points and Mount View outplayed visiting Meadow Bridge 61-30 on Thursday night.

Tayvion Richardson scored 15 points for the Golden Knights (2-2) while Kyrece Hughes aded 12 points.

Bryson Sawyers led Meadow Bridge with 18 points.

Mount View travels to Bradshaw to face homestanding River View tonight in a McDowell County Battle of the Views.

MCA 54, Jefferson 39

RIPPLEMEADE, Va. — MJ Patton scored 21 points with four rebounds and four steals and the Cavaliers rolled to a road win at Jeffereson Christian on Thursday night.

Eli Patton scored 12 points with nine rebounds while Chance Watkins had 13 points, 10 rebounds for Mercer Christian Academy.

Solomon Shirey scored 14 points for Jefferson while Marshall Hopkins added 13 points.

Richlands 41 Twin Valley 27

RICHLANDS, Va. — Arin Rife scored 14 points and rounded up 15 rebounds and the Lady Blue Tornado defeated Twin Valley in non-district action earler this week.

Adyson Moore added 11 points for Richlands while Jaylynn Altizer scored 10.

Leya Vanover scored 11 points to lead the Lady Panthers.

Phelps, Ky. 69, Mount View 41

WELCH — Caleigh McCoy unloaded 25 points to lead Phelps past the Lady Golden Knights on Wednesday.

Kylea Weddington scored 17 points for Phelps while Arionna Pigman scored 12.

Lakie Martin scored 14 points for Mount View. Ashanti Bonds scored 10.

PikeView 77, Independence 63

GARDNER — Drew Damewood and Jared Vestal scored 18 points apiece and the Panthers upended the Patriots at PikeView on Wednesday.

Austin Bennett added 12 for PikeView while David Thomas and Bryson Bailey added nine apiece.

Sylas Nelson scored 35 points for Independence. Ashton Arthur added 11 and Reid Warden scored 11.
