'Mostly Football' crew on whether Fitzpatrick and Mahomes will cool off

The two hottest quarterbacks in the NFL right now are Patrick Mahomes and Ryan Fitzpatrick, so the “Mostly Football” crew sparks the debate on which of these two surprises are more likely to come back down to earth.

Martellus Bennett believes that Mahomes is enjoying some early success because there isn’t a lot of tape out there on the Kansas City Chiefs second-year passer. He also thinks the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “keep lighting it up” mostly because of the weapons at wideout, but also his own personal bias against Texas Tech.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about Fitzpatrick was his attire at his postgame presser. The guys see this levity as an important part of team camaraderie and a sign that the veteran signal-caller has won over the locker room.

“The statement that outfit made was that he will be the starting quarterback in Weeks 4, 5 and 6,” added former running back Clinton Portis.
