The Mossyrock football team's transition back to 8-man football went about as seamlessly as coach Eric Ollikainen could have dreamed Friday, and the Vikings ran away with a 54-16 win over Quilcene at home.
Easton Kolb went 8 for 10 through the air for 214 yards, and also scored a pair of rushing touchdowns. Luke Cooper scored three touchdowns, one receiving and two rushing, each one at least 35 yards long.
Hunter Isom, meanwhile, caught seven of Kolb's completions for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
Quilcene equalized after Kolb began the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown scamper, but after that, it was all Vikings. Mossyrock led 22-8 after a quarter of play and 46-8 at halftime, and Coopers final touchdown — a 38-yard run — triggered the running clock midway through the third quarter.
Mossyrock is set to open 1B SWW League play next Friday, at Muckleshoot Tribal.
