Morocco's Harit hurts knee putting World Cup in doubt

Morocco striker Amine Harit was carried off on a stretcher against Monaco on Sunday, in the last club match before joining his country's World Cup squad.

Harit injured a knee in the 58th minute and lay on the pitch for several minutes. He was examined by Marseille medical staff and then carried off holding his head with both hands.

"From what we know, it's a very big injury," said Marseille coach, Igor Tudor, on Prime Video, without offering a detailed prognosis.

"He got injured just before the World Cup. We spoke about this all week. I'm very sad."

Harit, a former France youth international, has played 16 times for Morocco who kick off their World Cup against Croatia on November 23 in Group F.
