Montgomery on Aberdeen defeat, Hibs youngsters, and fitness updates

Hibs manager Nick Montgomery has been talking before his side's trip to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

Here are the key points from his press conference:

  • Says they "have already moved on" from their Viaplay Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen, but maintains that his side deserved to go through.

  • Believes that positive results are not far away - "We have to stick to the plan and keep doing what we’re doing".

  • Praised the young players coming through the academy, with mentions for 16-year-olds Rory Whittaker and Josh Landers, who both finished the loss at Hampden. "The experience they’ll get from that is going to be vital for them moving forward. As a club we’re really proud of that."

  • Martin Boyle has trained after limping off on Saturday, Jimmy Jeggo returns from illness, but Adam Le Fondre is out for at least a couple of weeks after picking up a knock.
