Monsters win in overtime, inch closer to Rochester in standings

Apr. 19—Stanislav Svozil scored 3 minutes, 1 second into overtime to give the Monsters a 3-2 victory over host Rochester on April 19.

The Monsters (38-24-5-3) have 84 points, two behind Rochester and three behind first-place Syracuse in the AHL North. Cleveland has two games remaining in the regular season, while Rochester and Syracuse each have one.

Svozil scored twice, with the other goal coming with 8:44 remaining in the third period. Cole Clayton scored Cleveland's first goal, a short-handed tally 8:20 into the first period.

Jet Greaves made 28 saves for the Monsters.

Cleveland finishes the regular season with two games against the Marlies in Toronto, beginning April 20.
