“He’s a monster,” Swinney is excited for his star sophomore

According to the masses, the Clemson Tigers are missing a top dog in the wide receiver room.

According to coach Swinney, Adam Randall is that guy for the Tigers.

“You look at our recruiting, anybody in the country would have signed Adam Randall. I mean, he’s a monster,” Swinney said during an appearance on Gramlich & Mac Lain with Kelly Gramlich and Eric Mac Lain. “He obviously tore his ACL that first spring and missed all last summer. So he missed all of summer, most all of camp, and then we kind of had to get him back going.”

When Randall walked on campus as Mr. South Carolina, everyone expected him to be a star, but Randall only caught ten passes last season due to that knee injury. Still, the sophomore is walking into a more leadership role in the wide receiver room.

“Adam Randall, he’s one of the most unique players we’ve had here,” Swinney said, “and an unbelievable kid.”.

Randall gives Garret Riley a big target to work with. With his big frame, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Randall play the same role Quentin Johnston did at TCU. Randall’s return from injury doesn’t seem much of a concern either.

“He looks amazing. I mean he’s, I don’t know, 225-6 pounds,” said last month at The ACC Kickoff. “He’s about five percent body fat. I mean he’s just strong. He can really run. I mean he’s one of the best receivers in the country. Just excited to see him healthy and feeling good. If he’s on the field, good things are going to happen with that kid.”
