Monday's Top Prep Performers from baseball, softball, volleyball and golf

Highlights from Monday in high school spring sports:

BASEBALL

  • Nico Ficele finished 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, Ethan Peña and Ethan Walgren each went 2 for 3, and Matthew Cuccias allowed two hits and no earned runs while striking out five in five innings to lead Simi Valley to an 8-6 win over Camarillo in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Wylan Nelson went 2 for 4 with a double, two walks and two RBIs, Dash Lopez was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Jason Romero was 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Jon Gurrola and Josh Woodworth each had a double and two RBIs, Carlos Perez was 2 for 2, and Jake Globerman got the win on the mound to lead Ventura to an 18-2 win over Foothill Tech in a nonleague game.

  • Matthew Ramirez went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Taylor Busch was 1 for 1 with two RBIs, Rylan Stillwagon and AJ Mai each went 1 for 2, and Roman Muñoz allowed three hits and a run in 3.1 innings to lead Moorpark (5-4) to a 9-2 win over Thousand Oaks in a nonleague game. Logen Seeger was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Isaiah Seck had a double for the Lancers (4-4).

  • Ethan Broome allowed four hits and no earned runs while striking out six in a complete-game effort and Ethan Kearney went 1 for 3 for Agoura in its 1-0 loss to Arcadia in a nonleague game.

  • Jathan Magana pitched a shutout with seven strikeouts, Santiago Avila went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, and Ivan Becerra was 2 for 3 with two RBIs to lead Fillmore (5-5, 3-3) to a 3-0 victory over Channel Islands in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Nate Castellon was 2 for 3 with a double, Tyler Shulman went 1 for 2 with an RBI, Desi Gonzalez had a double, Sean Sims had an RBI, and Peter Lynch allowed one run in four innings to lead Calabasas to a 4-1 victory over Grace Brethren in a nonleague game.

SOFTBALL

  • Ainsley Berlingeri allowed two hits while striking out nine in six scoreless innings and went 1 for 2 at the plate, Justice Flores was 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Angelina Apodaca and Jazlyn Alvary each had a hit and two RBIs, Cali Howe went 1 for 1 with three walks and an RBI, and Sammie Soto was 1 for 2 to lead Camarillo (6-2) to an 8-0 win over Burroughs in a nonleague game.

  • Savannah Mitchell was 2 for 4 with the two RBIs, including the game-winning hit in the top of the seventh inning, Amanda Smith went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs and pitched a complete game, Cameron McGugan was 3 for 4 with a double, Zoe Vanderbok finished 4 for 4 with two runs scored, and Claire Broberg was 2 for 4 with an RBI to lead Oak Park (7-3, 1-2) to a 7-4 victory over Royal in a Coastal Canyon League game. Kendall Diederich had a double and two RBIs, Aurora Zepeda was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Mrdah Murali was 2 for 3, and Holly White went 2 for 4 for the Highlanders (3-5, 0-4).

  • Madison Shay had a triple and two RBIs and Divina Miranda pitched a complete game to lead Buena to a 4-3 win over Santa Clara in a nonleague game.

  • Liliana Arana struck out 15 in a five-inning no-hitter and went 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs to lead Santa Paula to a 22-0 win over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game. KaiLea Reyes finished 3 for 5 with two homers and four RBIs, Angie Aguilera went 4 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Madison Gray was 2 for 4 with a double and five RBIs, Hailey Pettus went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, and Anayah Davis was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for the unbeaten Cardinals (7-0, 6-0).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

  • Nikko Songco compiled 15 kills, Jack Nicks finished with 11 kills, Riley Braddock had five blocks, and Preston Kling had 12 digs to lead Oak Park to a 25-27, 25-12, 25-21, 25-15 victory over Oaks Christian in a nonleague match.

BOYS GOLF

  • Oaks Christian shot a team score of 298 to finish two shots ahead of La Canada for first place at the 20-team Coyote Invitational at Calabasas Country Club. Freshman Max Emberson fired a 2-under 70 to win the individual title. Freshman Graham Christopher shot a 74 and senior Nick Waldock followed with a 75 for the Lions.

  • Luke Rea shot an 89 to lead Oxnard to a 504-587 win over Fillmore in a nonleague match at Olivas Links Golf Course. Isaac Weslow shot a 110 for the Flashes.
