Word is out that Floyd Mayweather Jr. met with Mark Cuban this week to discuss whether the world's top pound-for-pound boxer would be interested in participating in mixed martial arts.
While nothing more is likely to come of this -- aside from a barrage of free publicity for Cuban's fledgling HDNet Fights promotion -- the idea of Floyd in MMA is worth pondering.
How would Mayweather fare if he really decidated himself to learning mixed martial arts?
Obviously he can box, but would his all-around athleticism enable him to pick up kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and so on?
And could he transition from the defensive instincts that have marked his boxing career and adjust to the aggression most often favored by MMA judges?
Tell us your thoughts on what would happen if Floyd Mayweather Jr. became a mixed martial artist right here.
