Nathan Martorella is sizzling at the plate in his second full minor league season, hitting .417 for the San Diego Padres Double A team in San Antonio. The left-handed power hitter leads the Missions through 10 games in hitting, hits (15), walks (9), runs scored (8) and on base percentage (.522), having hit a homer with six RBI. Martorella, the Herald's 2019 Athlete of the Year, received 22 at bats in the spring with the Padres parent club, hitting .276, with three doubles and a pair of runs batted in.
