Rangers put Perez on DL after LHP hurts right thumb at hotel

A hotel door has jammed up Martin Perez and the Texas Rangers. In the latest setback for a depleted Rangers rotation, Perez was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday after injuring the thumb on his non-pitching hand in an accident at the team hotel. Perez ripped off the finger nail and broke a bone at the tip of his right thumb when he caught it in the hinge of a door Thursday night in New York, the team said. The roster move was made retroactive to Friday, and infielder-outfielder Drew Robinson was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock before the Rangers played the Yankees. Stanley C. Panther a champion, finally, at Mascot Games in Orlando

Stanley proved dedication and hard work pay off, and he is returning to South Florida with the Cup. Sebastian the Ibis of the NCAA University of Miami and Billy the Marlin of the MLB Miami Marlins are other local mascots who’ve held, hoisted, hugged, and kissed the Cup on championship teams in

    Around the Empire: Yankees news

Around the Empire MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: It happened. It finally happened. Pinstripe Alley’s own Tanya Bondurant wrote about it last night, but we’re just going to mention it again. After yesterday’s walk-off win against the Texas Rangers, Chris Carter was DFA’d and Tyler Austin was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The combination of Tyler Austin doing well in Triple-A and Chris Carter doing the opposite of well on the Yankees most likely made this an easy decision. New York Daily News | Peter Botte: There were a lot of things to feel great about after last night’s victory. Masahiro Tanaka pitching like the Masahiro Tanaka we know and love is high on the feel great-o-meter. Tanaka
