    Oakland acquired shortstop Elvis Andrus, closer Trevor Rosenthal and DH Mitch Moreland, and there are reasons to believe they’ll play up to or even outperform their predecessors — Semien, Liam Hendriks and Khris Davis — in 2021. Of course, this wasn’t a singular deal as much as a series of moves conducted late in the offseason that altered the nucleus of the roster and went a long way to keeping the A’s competitive in the American League West.
