Odor entered Friday hitting .210 and with the seventh-lowest OPS (.610) in the AL. He has warmed up a bit recently in terms of results, going 6 for 24 (.250) on the current road trip. Banister said he's seen an improvement in Odor's peripheral statistics, such as his rate of swinging at and missing pitches outside of the zone and his rate of hard-hit balls. For the season, Odor has chased 8.23 percent of the pitches he's been thrown, compared with 6.49 at this point last year. He's also hit fewer line drives than at this point a year ago (30 vs. 33) despite seeing about 100 more total pitches. Odor's average exit velocity for the season, however, is up over where it was through May 25, 2016:
